Sensible fields, Silvia Noronha & Niko de Paula Lefort, 2022 - ongoing, Mixed materials, mini fm-radio-transmition-system (sender, receiver, shakers), Kunstverein Goettingen, 2022
Sensible fields, Silvia Noronha & Niko de Paula Lefort, 2022 - ongoing, installation view (detail), radio transmission environment (senders, receivers, transducers, antenas), mini- solar panels, metal plates, sand, glass, shells, twigs, marbles, translucent foil, acrylic balls, metal balls, bricks, Styrofoam, corals, fossils, latex and unidentified objects, Kunstraum Kreuzberg, 2022
*within the framework of the Scholarship 'Modul D: Digitale Vermittlungsformate' 2022
'Sensible Fields' is a site-specific media art installation that creates awareness of our material and ecological environment.
Materials such as stones, woods, building materials and metals are exhibited and a radio transmission ecosystem is created that detects the energetic web of relationships as well as the changes therein and translates them into sound.
Radio technology (antennas, receivers, transmitters) is used to detect electromagnetic waves, the incoming signals are amplified and reproduced through the exhibited objects as resonating bodies. Furthermore, a feedback system is created between the electromagnetic fields and the materials in the space.
The presence and movement of the audience, bring vibrations and oscillations, creating relationships and fields of tension between the material entities in the space. The audience becomes an integral part of the collection of materials and is invited to dialogue and observe the non-human agency and its presence.
