Shifting Geologies (2020-ongoing)
Permanent sculpture
Shifting Geologies, 2020-ongoing, sand, stones, soil, metal waste and recycled plastics on threaded rod stainless steel after simulation of the process of plastiglomerate formation, Insel Grafenwerth - Bad Honnef, DE, 2023
*The project received donations of discarded polypropylene plastic from the local waste management company in Bonn – BONN ORANGE, and from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. It was carried out in collaboration with Plastic Kreuzberg, a plastic recycling initiative, and inspired by the open-source Precious Plastic technique."
"Interweaving past, present and future, Noronha’s geological transmutations conjure a layered sense of deep time—one that resonates with the urgency of the now. Comprising three plasticglomerate sculptures, the series introduces post-human companions that linger in the landscape, inviting park visitors to reflect on the vitality of matter and the entangled consequences of our individual and collective gestures".
